It seems to be like a miracle to be published by an academic publishing house in the US and Europe. At least if you are an old, retired museum curator with a retained passion for archaeology, heritage and politics. I have written a number of books on archaeology in Cyprus and Crete, and also about my private adventures, published in Cyprus and Sweden but never of this importance.

It's a bit sad that this didn't happen many years ago, but when working in the Medelhavsmuseet I was forbidden by the previous director to write books and even articles. She considered my books to be under all criticism even though some were used by students at the universities. But she didn't manage to remove them from the bookstore in the museum where they sold very well. The reason was that there are not many books in Swedish on the archaeology of Crete and Cyprus although the Swedes have been involved in archaeological excavations since long; in Cyprus since 1927.
